Facebook buys WhatsApp for $19 billion!

Facebook recently acquired the most popular messaging app in the world today, WhatsApp, for $19 billion dollars. Mark Zuckerburg, CEO of Facebook said, ""No one in the history of the world has done anything like that"(Covert, 2014). The WhatsApp is one of the fastest growing apps in the market place today with 450 million users and adding an additional one million new users every day. The WhatsApp is one of the only messaging apps that is free for the first year and allows communication across countries on any type of smartphone device. After the first year WhatsApp will only cost it's customers $1 dollar each year. If you have friends or family living in another country and you do not want to pay for international service, the WhatsApp is a great way to communicate.
